Safety 2010 Call for Speakers & Presenters
Submissions Due: July 31, 2009
ASSE invites those interested in presenting at its 2010 Professional Development Conference to submit a proposal for review by the Conference Planning Committee. Safety 2010 will provide a forum for attendees to learn the profession’s best practices and to:
- Identify key issues facing SH&E professionals
- Expand their knowledge to improve their professional skills
- Prepare for the challenges in the SH&E fields
- Engage in the discourse concerning the profession
- Identify emerging issues relevant to the profession
The committee is particularly interested in advanced, technically oriented and practical presentations.
Murray State University Student Section wins ASSE Outstanding Student Section Award at Safety 2008

ASSE’s Outstanding Student Section of the Year Award is given to the section that makes the most significant contribution to safety education and research each year. This year’s award went to the Murray State University Student Section of the Purchase Area Chapter. Section President Melissa Seay was in Las Vegas to accept the award. “I feel our greatest accomplishment as a student section was being able to help our community and university,” says Seay. “I would like to thank ASSE for choosing MSU for this award. It’s great to see a professional organization so devoted to helping young safety professionals.” Mine Safety Appliances Co. sponsored this year’s award.
