Safety Specialist (3/20/08)

A high technology leader is currently seeking a Safety Specialist to define ATC System Safety Requirements, analyze & evaluate designs to verify compliance with safety requirements, track and record the closure of all processes & tests that verify the safety of delivered hardware and software.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing safety reports that document project safety requirements have been met, safety test procedures & test results are reviewed and checked to confirm compliance with the requirements, software process records, operational restrictions and safety analyses are similarly reviewed, checked and identified in the report. Also conduct Failure Modes, Effects & Criticality Analysis (FMECA) - Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Hazard Analysis - Event Tree Analysis - Operating & Support Hazard Analysis (O&SHA).

A minimum 4-5+ year's relevant working experience in a related environment and completion of a B.Sc. Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required for this role. Knowledge of railway systems and familiarity with military specifications would be an asset.
